Job Description The Pharmacy Manager oversees the daily workflow of the department, ensuring the safe dispensing of medication and supervision of pharmacy technicians while on duty. This role involves assisting personnel and patients with drug information and identification, developing and sustaining productive patient relationships, evaluating and resolving potential drug therapy problems, providing patient counseling, and prescription verification. The Pharmacy Manager is accountable for adhering to state pharmacy laws and ensuring compliance with regulations applicable to the DEA, AAAHC, and
HRSA 340B
requirements. Collaboration with providers on medication management, maintaining an adequate drug/medication supply, and promoting community initiatives are key aspects of this role. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy and supervise pharmacy technicians. Assist with drug information and identification for personnel and patients. Develop and sustain productive relationships with patients. Evaluate and resolve potential drug therapy problems from all available sources. Provide patient counseling and prescription verification. Ensure compliance with state pharmacy laws, DEA, AAAHC, and
HRSA 340B
requirements. Collaborate with providers on medication management. Handle, order, and maintain an adequate supply of drugs and medications. Hire new staff, create onboarding plans, and manage performance. Motivate, recognize, and engage staff while promoting teamwork and trust. Promote community give-back initiatives and generate excitement within the department. Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Communicate with care team members to maintain timely patient flow. Contribute to community initiatives and advocate for the organization's mission. Adhere to patient care needs and core values to provide a best-in-class patient experience. Drive Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance initiatives. Supervise day-to-day operations of the pharmacy and pharmacy technician personnel. Essential Skills Pharmacy management experience. Process improvement expertise. Strong knowledge of 340B and FQHC. Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy, preferably PharmD. Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Florida. Five or more years of successful experience as a practicing pharmacist. Experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers and a 340B pharmacy. Ability to obtain and maintain Epic certification/annual compliance. Additional Skills & Qualifications People management skills. Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly and 30-50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Direct exposure to computer screens. Potential exposure to contagious/infectious diseases. Ability to travel between sites for coverage or meetings if necessary. Work Environment The role is based in an onsite pharmacy attached to a clinic. The Pharmacy Manager will work in an environment where direct interaction with patients and computer screens is frequent. There may be exposure to contagious or infectious diseases, and travel between sites may be necessary. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
