Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire This leadership role demands a dedicated Director of Pharmacy with a strong background in acute care inpatient hospital settings and a proven track record of managing a diverse, multi-level pharmacy team. The position is based in Cicero, IL, offering the opportunity to lead clinical and operational functions while serving an underserved patient population with a commitment to community health.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily pharmacy operations within an acute care inpatient hospital environment Manage and mentor a team of approximately 20 full-time, part-time, and PRN pharmacy staff Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and CMS regulations Collaborate with hospital leadership to optimize pharmacy services and patient care outcomes Lead initiatives focused on community health improvement in a safety net hospital setting
Required Qualifications:
Active Illinois Pharmacist License in good standing; mandatory with all licenses disclosed and verified Minimum three years' experience as Director of Pharmacy in an acute care inpatient hospital setting Minimum three years' acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
Preferred Qualifications:
PharmD degree strongly preferred Board Certification considered a significant advantage Completion of hospital pharmacy residency programs a plus Experience managing multi-tiered pharmacy teams Strong background in Joint Commission and CMS compliance Previous work in community or safety net hospitals is highly valued
