Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire This leadership opportunity calls for an experienced pharmacy professional to oversee clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial aspects of an acute care hospital pharmacy. Reporting directly to hospital administration, the Director will work closely with clinical leadership teams to ensure efficient pharmacy operations that support patient care excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide full-scope leadership across clinical, operational, and administrative pharmacy functions Manage a multidisciplinary team of approximately 20 pharmacy professionals, including full-time, part-time, and PRN staff Collaborate with hospital administration and clinical departments to align pharmacy services with organizational goals Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards Oversee financial management and budgeting for pharmacy services Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient safety
Required Qualifications:
Active Illinois Pharmacist License in good standing (mandatory, must be confirmed prior to submission) Minimum of three years as a Director of Pharmacy in an acute care inpatient hospital setting Minimum of three years acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience Full disclosure and verification of all pharmacist licenses held
Preferred Qualifications:
PharmD degree strongly preferred Board Certification is a strong plus Completion of a hospital pharmacy residency is advantageous Experience managing diverse pharmacy teams across multiple staffing models Background in Joint Commission and CMS compliance Familiarity with community or safety net hospital environments is beneficial
