About the Job General Summary of Position The Pharmacy Technician Clinical Coordinator serves as a key liaison among healthcare providers, patients, payors, and pharmacies, facilitating effective communication and coordination to support optimal patient care. The primary responsibility of this role is to streamline the complex process of securing access to prescribed medications, with a focus on meeting the unique needs of each patient. The Clinical Coordinator supports various areas of clinical operations, including benefits investigation, prior authorization, copay and foundation assistance, new patient onboarding, medication delivery coordination, drug replacement services, and telephonic outreach for prescription refills. This role works collaboratively with patients, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and payors to identify and resolve barriers to medication access while promoting timely, efficient, and patient-centered care. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Fosters strong relationships with healthcare providers including physicians, nurses, pharmacists and payors to facilitate efficient communication and coordination of care

Proactively tracks patient refills coming due, proposes orders to providers, escalates clinical issues to a pharmacist as required, performs outreach to patients to ensure coordination of all aspects of medication management.

Researches options for copay / foundation assistance, drug replacement services, and patient financial counseling; facilitates enrollment and / or connects patients to available resources

Proactively tracks and (re)completes prior authorization and patient assistance enrollments that are due to expire

Performs patient onboarding benefits investigation, order entry, and delivery coordination activities

Ensures patients are equipped with resources (clinical/financial/educational) to maintain adherence to their medication action plan Minimal Qualifications

Education High School Diploma or GED required Experience 3-4 years Pharmacy Technician experience in a retail mail order or specialty pharmacy required

1-2 years Customer service or equivalent experience preferred Licenses and Certifications MD Pharmacy Technician licensure or registration as required by the State of Maryland required upon hire

National pharmacy technician license (PTCB or ExCPT) required upon hire This position has a hiring range of USD $22.48 - USD $39.75 /Hr.
