Your Valued Contributions:
The Pharmacy Clerk provides frontline customer service and administrative support in a busy
FQHC 340B
outpatient clinic pharmacy. This role ensures efficient patient flow, accurate transaction processing, support for pharmacy technicians and pharmacists, and compliance with organizational and 340B program requirements. The pharmacy clerk plays an essential role in creating a welcoming, patient‑centered environment for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including underserved and medically vulnerable populations. Patient and Customer Service Delivers quality customer service to patients, responding to inquiries, questions, or requests, and referring them to the pharmacist for medical information. Communicate wait times, medication availability, and pharmacy procedures. Provides patients with educational information regarding their prescription. Answers telephone in a polite and timely manner and ensure accurate information is exchanged and patient is satisfied. Directs calls to appropriate pharmacy staff. Manages will call bin by calling patients that have prescriptions in the pharmacy for 7 days and returning these prescriptions after the return window specified in our workflow if patients do not pick up. Administrative and Clerical Duties Balances cash register drawer and prepares daily deposit. Receives and stores incoming supplies; check in and stock medication orders. Counts stock and maintains electronic inventory records. Cleans equipment. Accepts packages at the pharmacy window from UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc. Will distribute to the appropriate pharmacy staff person. Will also redirect the delivery drivers to another dept if necessary File, scan, and organize pharmacy documents, logs, and records in accordance with regulatory standards. Pharmacy Operations Support Assist pharmacy technicians and pharmacists with workflow tasks within the clerk's scope. Manage inventory at the front counter, including OTC items and patient information materials. Restock shelves, maintain cleanliness, and ensure an orderly pharmacy environment. Monitor waiting area flow and communicate patient updates to pharmacy staff.
Required Training & Experience:
Possesses a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CPR Possesses a current State of Michigan driver's license and valid automobile insurance. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products. Effectively use the pharmacy software system.
