Job Description
Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An opportunity is available to lead pharmacy operations as Director of Pharmacy at a behavioral health hospital in Independence, Missouri. This contract position supports the opening and establishment of the facility's pharmacy services, providing critical leadership in a behavioral inpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee pharmacy setup and operations aligned with behavioral health requirements Collaborate with nursing staff to manage medication ordering and stocking Ensure proper functionality of Omnicell automation and order entry systems (HCS or Cerner preferred) Develop, review, and implement pharmacy policies and procedures Manage on-call pharmacy support including weekdays and weekends Communicate progress and updates consistently through weekly calls and emailsQualifications and Experience:
Proven leadership as a Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) in inpatient behavioral health Active Missouri pharmacist license in good standing is required Experience with HCS or Cerner order entry systems and Omnicell automation preferred Ability to work independently without onsite technician support Flexibility to support a new hospital opening, including establishing workflows and collaborating across teamsSchedule:
Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus weekday and weekend on-call coverage This role begins between April 27th and May 4th and will continue until a permanent hire is in place.
