Job Overview:
Join Monmouth Medical Center as our Assistant Director of Pharmacy at the Vogel Cancer Center. In this role, you will serve as the Registered Pharmacist in Charge (RPIC), managing daily personnel activities and ensuring strict compliance with clinical and sterile compounding standards. This full-time day position balances leadership and administrative oversight with active staff pharmacist duties within our academic healthcare system.
Qualifications:
Required:
Active unrestricted New Jersey Pharmacy License 10+ years of hospital pharmacy experience 5+ years of hospital pharmacy management experience Oncology and chemotherapy patient care experience Extensive pharmaceutical sterile compounding experience Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy or FPGEC certification with required internship hours
Preferred:
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or other advanced degree Board certification, particularly in oncology or sterile products Scheduling Requirements Full-Time (Day)
Essential Functions:
Serves as registered pharmacist in charge -RPIC- for the pharmacy license with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy. Is responsible to be the designated person for USP797, USP800, and USP795. Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the pharmacy personnel. Exercises supervisory authority and independent judgment in directing pharmacy personnel and regulatory compliance. Makes recommendations regarding the ongoing performance evaluation of supervised staff and resulting actions. Reviews profiles, compounds and dispenses medication of the receipt of a physician order. Performs all other duties as a staff pharmacist. Ensure the pharmacy is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environment findings and medical errors, etc. Coordinates with Monmouth Medical Center Assistant Director/Supervisor to ensure adequate staffing of the operation. Works with regional Systems/Information Technology staff to support the local needs related to Pyxis support, EPIC tickets, barcoding, 340b program, etc. Coordinates with Regional Director to develop and comply with budget.
