Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and supervise pharmacy activities in alignment with policies, professional standards, and legal regulations. Recommend practice innovations to administration and support corporate initiatives. Mentor clinical pharmacists and support staff while ensuring adherence to JCAHO, DEA, and State Board of Pharmacy requirements. Maintain department compliance with safety, infection control, and disaster preparedness policies. Set and communicate goals for quality improvement, fiscal management, productivity, and patient satisfaction in coordination with leadership. Lead recruitment, training, evaluation, and retention of pharmacy personnel. Regularly assess educational needs and competency of the department team, providing guidance and performance feedback. Foster a positive team environment promoting multidisciplinary collaboration among staff, physicians, and nurses.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited institution. Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience with at least 2 years in leadership roles. Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy. Compliance with sterile compounding and other state requirements as applicable. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.
Preferred:
PharmD degree. 5+ years hospital pharmacy experience.
ALS/ACLS
certification (required if attending Code Blue emergencies). Why This Role?
