Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire This opportunity is for a Director of Pharmacy role based in Butler, Pennsylvania, offering a direct hire, permanent position within an acute care hospital setting. The role demands a hands-on working director who also serves as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), actively participating in daily pharmacy operations while providing strong leadership and management oversight.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Rotating weekend coverage required, with about 4 hours of flex time based on patient needs Compensating weekday off provided when weekend shifts are worked
Team and Leadership:
As a working director, you will lead a small, close-knit pharmacy team including: 1 Full-Time Staff Pharmacist 1 Full-Time Pharmacy Technician 2 Per Diem Pharmacists All team members report directly to the Director of Pharmacy.
Systems:
Currently utilizing Med Host and paper-based systems, with an upcoming transition to EPIC (timeline to be confirmed).
Qualifications & Experience:
Acute care hospital pharmacy experience is required Prior pharmacy management or director-level experience strongly preferred Comfort with being hands-on in daily pharmacy activities as well as performing administrative and leadership duties Strong administrative, clinical, and operational skills Ability to effectively manage a small pharmacy team Pennsylvania Pharmacist License required or willingness to obtain Retail pharmacy-only experience is not suitable for this role This position uniquely combines administrative leadership, clinical expertise, and operational involvement.
