Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Direct Hire This opportunity is for a full-time pharmacist role in a retail pharmacy setting located in Newport, PA. The position offers a direct hire employment type and requires a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of pharmacy practice while fostering strong collaboration with the store operations team.
Responsibilities include:
Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with store operations and pharmacy staff, promoting associate engagement. Ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions by conducting Drug Utilization Reviews and final quality assurance, complying with state and federal regulations. Managing the pharmacy department to drive business profitability and prescription growth through clinical programs such as immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM). Overseeing inventory control in partnership with the district pharmacy manager by tracking weekly sales and ordering pharmaceutical stock. Aligning departmental objectives with key performance metrics to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency. Providing excellent customer service including healthcare counseling and addressing medical-related inquiries. Supervising pharmacists, pharmacy associates, and support staff; directing training, coaching, and disciplinary actions. Maintaining pharmacy security and handling customer concerns to build trust and loyalty. Collaborating with physicians and utilizing reference materials to resolve prescription-related issues. Keeping the pharmacy organized and clean, while fostering continuous staff development to reduce turnover and manage labor costs. Prioritizing daily pharmacy tasks such as inventory cycle counts and customer will-calls to ensure timely completion.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. Current Pennsylvania Pharmacist License. Current Pennsylvania Immunization License.
Schedule:
Variable day and afternoon shifts. Bi-weekly hours totaling 74.
