Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy who will serve as a working director and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) within a close-knit, acute care hospital setting. This permanent, direct hire position offers a blend of hands-on clinical pharmacy work alongside strategic administrative and operational management.
Location:
Gibsonia, Pennsylvania Schedule:
Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Weekend coverage on a rotating basis, about 4 hours flex time based on patient needs Compensating weekday off provided when a weekend day is worked
Team and Reporting:
Manage and work alongside a small pharmacy team including: 1 Full-Time Staff Pharmacist 1 Full-Time Pharmacy Technician 2
Per Diem Pharmacists Systems:
Current use of Med Host and paper systems Planned future implementation of EPIC (timeline pending)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily pharmacy operations as a hands-on director, balancing clinical and administrative duties Provide leadership and mentorship to pharmacy staff to ensure excellent patient care and regulatory compliance Oversee pharmacy regulatory standards and serve as the Pharmacist in Charge Drive efficiency and quality improvements within pharmacy services Prepare for upcoming system transitions including EPIC implementation
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Acute care hospital pharmacy experience (required) Pharmacy management or director-level experience (strongly preferred) Licensed Pharmacist in Pennsylvania or willing to obtain license Demonstrated ability to operate effectively as a working director who actively participates in pharmacy operations Strong administrative, clinical, and operational skills Ability to lead and develop a small team effectively Retail pharmacy-only backgrounds will not be considered This role offers a unique opportunity to lead from the front, combining direct patient care with leadership and operational oversight in an acute care environment.
