  • $30.00/hour 1099 Independent Contractor Job Summary Quality Patient Centered Services (QPCS) is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Coordinator
  • Non-Direct Care to support pharmacy operations within the Department of Human Services.
This role focuses on prior authorization processing, provider communication, and administrative support in a managed care pharmacy environment. Key Responsibilities Process and issue prior authorization requests in accordance with established policies and procedures Communicate approvals and denials to physicians and pharmacies via phone and written correspondence Respond to inquiries from providers, pharmacists, and staff regarding pharmacy benefit issues Address topics such as formulary coverage, prescription claims, and prior authorization requirements Resolve routine provider and pharmacy-related concerns efficiently Maintain accurate documentation of all interactions and actions in tracking systems Provide administrative support, including preparing reports, policies, meeting agendas, and correspondence Ensure clear and professional communication with healthcare providers and internal stakeholders Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree in a health-related field (e.g., Medical Assistant) OR Pharmacy Technician certification Experience working with a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) company or health plan preferred
Knowledge of:
Prescription processing and pharmacy claims Drug categories (brand/generic names, spelling, pronunciation) Utilization management tools (e.g., prior authorization, step therapy, quantity limits) Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with physicians and staff Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Why Join QPCS?
