Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire This opportunity is for a hands-on Director of Pharmacy to lead a small, dedicated hospital pharmacy team in an acute care setting. This permanent, direct hire role requires a licensed pharmacist who thrives in a dynamic environment combining leadership, clinical, and operational responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily pharmacy operations as the working director and Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) Lead and mentor a team including 1 full-time staff pharmacist, 1 full-time pharmacy technician, and 2 per diem pharmacists Manage administrative functions, clinical services, and operational workflow within the pharmacy department Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards Support an upcoming transition to EPIC pharmacy systems from Med Host and paper processes Coordinate weekend coverage on a rotating basis, with compensatory weekday time off
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current Pennsylvania Pharmacist License or eligibility to obtain licensure Proven acute care hospital pharmacy experience is required Pharmacy management or director-level experience strongly preferred Comfortable with a working director role, actively involved in daily pharmacy tasks and leadership duties Strong administrative, clinical, and operational skills Experience managing a small team with direct reports Retail-only pharmacy experience does not meet requirements for this role
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Weekend coverage required on rotation (about 4 hours flex time) This role offers a unique blend of direct patient care, team leadership, and department administration.
