Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Direct Hire This opportunity calls for a Director of Pharmacy to lead and actively participate in day-to-day operations at a 35-bed critical illness recovery hospital located within a larger medical facility in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania. The role combines administrative leadership with hands-on clinical and operational responsibilities, overseeing a small, close-knit pharmacy team. Responsibilities include managing pharmacy services focused on inpatient care for patients recovering from serious conditions such as brain injury, cardiac and neurologic disorders, pulmonary care, and wound treatment. You will supervise one full-time pharmacist, one full-time pharmacy technician, and two per diem pharmacists, all reporting directly to you. Collaborating with staff to ensure smooth pharmacy operations, compliance with regulations, and implementation of evolving systems like Med Host and a forthcoming EPIC transition, are key parts of this role.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Rotating weekend coverage (about 4 hours flex time), with compensatory weekday off Desired Experience /
Qualifications:
Acute care hospital pharmacy experience (required) Pharmacy management or director-level experience (strongly preferred) Licensed in Pennsylvania or eligible to obtain license Comfortable working hands-on alongside leadership duties, managing a small team Strong skills in administration, clinical pharmacy, and operational management Retail pharmacy experience alone is not suitable for this role This direct hire position offers an annual salary between $140,000 and $160,000, including potential bonus incentives linked to pharmacy audit performance.
