Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract Step into a leadership role overseeing pharmacy operations at a well-established behavioral health facility serving adult patients. This contract position offers an opportunity to guide clinical and operational functions while supporting a dedicated pharmacy team in a stable environment.

Location:

Quinlan, TX Contract Duration:

Approximately 13 weeks, starting October 1st, with overlap training alongside the outgoing Director of Pharmacy.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM plus on-call availability Occasional weekend shifts, Saturday and Sunday 6:00 AM - 11:00

AM Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge, overseeing all aspects of pharmacy operations Lead staffing efforts to ensure adequate coverage and seamless workflow across shifts Collaborate on committee work related to pharmacy and patient care services Provide mentorship and training support to pharmacy staff, including a part-time pharmacist in their training phase Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to quality initiatives Manage the use of the order entry system (HCS) and site automation (Omnicell), with experience being advantageous but not mandatory

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Active Texas Pharmacist licensure required Prior experience in inpatient pharmacy settings, behavioral health experience is a strong plus Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate pharmacy staff Familiarity with pharmacy automation and computerized order entry systems preferred

Pharmacy Team Structure:

Supported by 1 full-time and multiple part-time and per diem pharmacy technicians and pharmacists Coverage includes ensuring pharmacist and technician support per shift for order fulfillment, delivery, and inventory This role is ideal for a seasoned pharmacist who can step into a pivotal leadership position ensuring operational excellence and staff stability during the transition period.
