Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to provide essential leadership and coverage at a behavioral health hospital in North Texas. This role requires overseeing pharmacy operations in a licensed 54-bed inpatient facility, with an anticipated bed expansion in 2027. The position is contract-based, starting October 1st, with a duration of approximately 13 weeks to allow overlap and smooth transition with the outgoing Director of Pharmacy (DOP).

Greenville, TX Schedule/Hours:

Monday through Friday, 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM, plus on-call availability Occasional weekend coverage Saturdays and Sundays, 06:00 AM to 11:00

AM Core Responsibilities:

Direct and manage daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission and State Board inspections Oversee staffing, providing leadership support and training for pharmacy staff including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians Participate in Director of Pharmacy committee work and collaborate with clinical teams to optimize patient care Maintain continuity of pharmacy services during transition until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Valid Texas Pharmacist license required Proven inpatient pharmacy management experience, behavioral health experience is a strong plus Familiarity with automated systems such as Omnicell and order entry systems like HCS advantageous but not mandatory Ability to supervise and support a pharmacy team consisting of full-time, part-time, and per diem pharmacists and technicians

Pharmacy Team Composition:

1 full-time pharmacy technician, 1 part-time technician, 3 per diem technicians 3 per diem pharmacists, 1 part-time pharmacist Pharmacist and technician support on each shift for filling, delivery, and inventory management This role offers an impactful leadership opportunity at a well-established inpatient behavioral health facility.
