Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy/Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead pharmacy operations in a hospital setting specializing in behavioral health. This contract position is based in West Virginia, with coverage starting on August 31, 2026, until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired.

Kenova, WV Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM On-call coverage after each shift and on weekends

Key Responsibilities:

Assume full staffing and administrative duties as the PIC and Interim Director of Pharmacy Oversee pharmacy operations in a behavioral health hospital with 165 licensed beds and an average daily census of 130 Manage a team including 1 full-time pharmacist, 4 per diem pharmacists, and 2.6 full-time equivalent pharmacy technicians Utilize and become proficient with hospital order entry system HCS and site automation through Omnicell (training provided) Collaborate closely with pharmacy technicians responsible for order filling, delivery, and inventory management Implement policies that support safe and effective medication use and compliance with hospital standards Participate in onsite training and knowledge transfer from the current Director of Pharmacy, who is retiring

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Must hold a valid West Virginia pharmacist license Experience in hospital pharmacy management and familiarity with Omnicell automation strongly preferred Prior experience in behavioral health pharmacy settings is a plus Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to manage pharmacy staffing and workflow effectively
