Job Description

Job Summary The Customer Service Technician (Pharmacy Data Technician) is responsible for ensuring smooth communication between patients, veterinarians, and our pharmacy team. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a customer-first attitude.
Key Responsibilities Customer Interaction:
Answer and manage phone calls from patients, veterinarians, and other healthcare providers in a professional and courteous manner. Provide accurate information about medications, orders, and services. Resolve customer issues promptly while maintaining detailed documentation of interactions.
Prescription Data Management:
Accurately input prescription data into the pharmacy system, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards. Verify and cross-check prescription details for accuracy and completeness.
Problem Resolution:
Investigate and address discrepancies or issues related to prescriptions or patient records. Collaborate with pharmacists and technicians to resolve complex inquiries or challenges. Communication with
Veterinary Clinics and Clients:
Work directly with veterinarians to clarify prescription orders and ensure proper medication instructions. Contact clients for prescription renewals, clarifications, or payment issues.
Compliance and Documentation:
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain adherence to HIPAA regulations. Document detailed notes for all customer interactions, ensuring a clear and accurate record.
Medication Knowledge and Support:
Familiarize yourself with commonly compounded medications, their uses, and proper terminology. Educate customers on medication storage and handling instructions when applicable.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Assist pharmacists and compounding technicians with administrative tasks to support the preparation and delivery of prescriptions. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless operations.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on new processes, technologies, and services offered by the pharmacy. Participate in ongoing training and skill development to enhance service quality.
Administrative Support:
Manage incoming and outgoing faxes, emails, and other communications related to prescriptions or patient records. Maintain organized and up-to-date patient files and records in the pharmacy system.
Quality Assurance:
Double-check prescription entries and documentation to ensure accuracy before pharmacist review. Identify and report errors or inconsistencies in customer data or orders. Support the pharmacy team with additional tasks as assigned.
What We're Looking For Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Certification:
Pharmacy Technician Certification (required).
Skills:
Strong communication skills with a positive attitude. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Reliable and dependable team player. Quick learner with attention to detail.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$16.00 - $22.00 per hour
