Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pharmacy operations, with experience in long-term care (LTC) and critical care settings. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications, providing exceptional patient service, and supporting the overall patient care process. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions and other sterile products, adhering to aseptic techniques. Manage medication intake processes, ensuring accurate patient information and medication histories are documented. Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries and educating patients on medication usage and potential side effects. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication administration and ensure adherence to medical protocols. Maintain an organized pharmacy environment, including inventory management and compliance with safety regulations. Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare staff regarding patient care needs. Support acute care services by participating in medication therapy management and clinical interventions as needed. Experience Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required, with a preference for candidates who have worked in LTC or hospital settings. Familiarity with critical care practices and acute care environments is highly desirable. Proficiency in medical terminology related to pharmacy operations is essential. Experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques will be considered an asset.
