: The Lab Assistant supports student academic success by preparing, assisting, and resetting lab sessions. Works in conjunction with the Program Director and instructor to coordinate instructional lab sessions. Assists students with hands-on lab sessions. Assists instructors with instructional components of lab sessions. Educates students on proper hazardous waste disposal and ensures storage and disposal align with OSHA and campus safety protocols. Enforces lab safety codes in all lab areas to assure student and colleague safety. Communicates professionally with the Program Director regarding laboratory maintenance and supply inventory for restocking and ordering. Efficiently sets up and breaks down lab sessions. Performs assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision. : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Must have:
Certificate or Diploma in Dental Assisting preferred (not required). Working knowledge of dental materials, equipment and infection control protocols. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to support students in an encouraging and supportive manner.Nice to have:
Prior experience in a dental office or clinical setting. Teaching experience in secondary education. CPR certification.What We Are Offering You:
