Duties Prepare and dispense medications accurately, including sterile IV admixtures and IV infusion preparations, following aseptic techniques and sterile compounding procedures. Assist in medication inventory management, including stock replenishment, expiration checks, and proper storage according to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance. Support clinical pharmacy activities by reviewing medication orders, verifying drug dosages, and ensuring adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws. Provide exceptional patient service by answering medication-related questions, assisting with intake procedures, and supporting medication administration processes. Maintain precise documentation of medication dispensing, compounding procedures, and inventory records in accordance with hospital policies and drug regulation standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication delivery for critical care and acute care patients in various hospital departments. Uphold safety protocols by practicing proper aseptic techniques during sterile compounding and ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards. Requirements Proven pharmacy technician experience with a focus on hospital or clinical settings; LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy experience is a plus. Critical care experience or acute care background highly desirable for supporting complex patient needs. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance are preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, drug regulation, and state healthcare regulations governing pharmacy practice. Experience with IV compounding, sterile IV admixture procedures, and aseptic technique is essential. Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards related to medication safety, storage, and documentation. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work efficiently under pressure in a hospital environment.
