Duties Accurately compound sterile and non-sterile medications following aseptic techniques and sterile IV admixture procedures. Prepare customized prescriptions in compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, ensuring pharmaceutical regulatory adherence. Perform data entry and maintain detailed records within pharmacy software systems to ensure accurate medication tracking and inventory management. Assist with medication administration processes, including IV infusion preparation and drug calculations, while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Support patient service initiatives by providing clear medication instructions, answering questions related to drug regulation, and ensuring optimal patient care. Conduct routine quality checks for pharmaceutical calculations, drug labeling, and sterility standards to uphold safety protocols. Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, pharmacological medical terminology, and acute care procedures relevant to hospital pharmacy settings. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician with current registration; prior experience in a 503A compounding pharmacy is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in sterile IV compounding, aseptic technique, and hospital pharmacy operations. Proven experience with pharmacy software systems and data entry accuracy. Strong knowledge of state healthcare regulations, drug regulation policies, and federal pharmacy laws governing compounded medications. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and communication. Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately and efficiently under pressure. Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are desirable; additional LTC pharmacy experience or critical care experience is a plus.
