Job Description
Pharmacy Technician (12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.) Position Summary Mountains Community Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy team in providing safe, accurate, and efficient medication services. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician assists with medication preparation, sterile compounding, inventory management, automated dispensing systems, and medication distribution while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare and distribute medications, including sterile IV compounds, under pharmacist supervision. Restock Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets, crash carts, and medication inventory. Maintain compliance with USP <797> sterile compounding standards. Assist with outpatient prescription processing and medication packaging. Monitor medication inventory, expiration dates, recalls, and temperature logs. Support pharmacy quality improvement, inventory control, and regulatory compliance. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Current California Pharmacy Technician License. High school diploma or equivalent. Strong communication, organizational, and basic math skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Preferred Qualifications National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB). One year of hospital pharmacy experience. Experience with sterile IV compounding, Pyxis, and unit-dose medication preparation.
