The role involves floating between two hospitals located approximately 20 miles apart, offering dynamic inpatient pharmacy experience.

Location:

Los Angeles, CA - covering Gardena Memorial (Gardena) and Coast Plaza Hospital (Norwalk).

Duration:

Contract position with a minimum assignment of 8 weeks.

Schedule/Hours:

Variable day and afternoon shifts, providing flexibility in hours worked.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets accurately and efficiently. Manufacture intravenous solutions including IVs, IV piggybacks (IVPBs), and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs). Deliver medications to nursing units in a timely manner. Answer pharmacy-related telephone inquiries professionally. Utilize order entry systems, specifically Allscripts/Paragon, to process medication orders. Support inpatient pharmacy operations ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience in inpatient pharmacy settings. Proficiency in making IVs, IVPBs, and TPNs is required. Hands-on experience filling and managing Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets. Familiarity with hospital order entry systems like Allscripts or Paragon. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while floating between facilities.
