Role:
Skilled Nursing Pharmacy in San Diego, CA is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Responsibilities:
Assist pharmacists in accurately preparing, packaging, and dispensing medications for skilled nursing facility residents Process and verify medication orders, including controlled substances, in compliance with state and federal regulations Manage medication cycle fills, blister packs, and unit-dose dispensing for long-term care patients Coordinate with nursing facility staff to ensure timely and accurate medication delivery Maintain accurate patient medication profiles and update records in the pharmacy management system Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications Ensure compliance with
HIPAA, DEA
regulations, and long-term care pharmacy standards
Requirements:
Active California Pharmacy Technician license (CPhT) required PTCB or ExCPT national certification preferred Prior experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or institutional pharmacy setting preferred Familiarity with unit-dose packaging, cycle fills, and eMAR systems Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a high-volume dispensing environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with nursing facility staff Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under pressure
