Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract Seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to support a specialty infusion pharmacy located in Orange County. This contract opportunity offers an ASAP start with a duration of 13 weeks and potential for temp-to-hire status. The role is Monday through Friday, day shifts, providing a stable weekday schedule.
Responsibilities include:
Accurately inputting patient demographics and insurance information, typing prescription labels, processing medication refills, and submitting billing claims and authorization requests. Labeling and packaging injectable medications, ancillary supplies, and oral/topical medications according to patient orders. Preparing shipping documentation, coordinating shipments, and confirming deliveries with patients. Reconciling shipments against packing slips and receiving and unpacking medications. Performing routine daily and monthly cleaning and disinfection of the IV room per USP standards and company policies. Delivering exceptional customer service via verbal, written, and in-person communication. Supporting pharmacy operations, including maintaining 340B program integrity and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current California Pharmacy Technician license is required. Minimum of 1 year experience in hospital, ambulatory care, or infusion pharmacy settings. Hands-on experience preparing and handling IV medications. Local candidates preferred to ensure prompt availability. The contract offers exposure to a variety of pharmacy operational tasks including patient interaction, medication preparation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
