A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Pharmacy Technician in West Sacramento, CA. The Pharmacy Technician would be working for a well-established healthcare/pharmacy company and has potential for career growth. This is an on-site W2 contract position with potential for temp-to-hire as a permanent employee. 1:30 PM-10:00 PM, unless otherwise directed by management Mandatory overtime may be required Reliable transportation is required for the onsite schedule Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities Accurately fill prescription vials with prescribed tablets and capsules in a high-volume automated refill environment Read computer-generated screens to locate medications and verify the correct product, size, and strength Replenish automated dispensing cells and use handheld scanners to enter lot numbers and expiration dates Perform quality checks to identify expired or damaged medications and help prevent cross-contamination Complete weekly inventory cycle counts and assist with researching inventory discrepancies Prepare cold-chain and specialty prescriptions according to handling and packaging requirements Assist with packing and shipping prescriptions while following HIPAA and pharmacy safety standards Identify, resolve, and appropriately escalate issues to management Maintain consistent workflow and meet daily production goals while working independently or as part of a team Pharmacy Technician Requirements Active California Pharmacy Technician license required At least 1 year of pharmacy, retail, or customer service experience Pharmacy experience must be professional experience and cannot consist solely of externships or training High School Diploma or equivalent experience Basic mathematical skills Ability to follow oral instructions and perform repetitive tasks Ability to work effectively under time pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Ability to operate scanning equipment Ability to work in a team environment Knowledge of federal and state HIPAA requirements Reliable transportation to work onsite Pharmacy Technician Preferred Qualifications PTCB National Certification Previous experience in a high-volume pharmacy or production environment Inventory, fulfillment, warehouse, or automated dispensing experience Experience with handheld scanners, pallet jacks, hand trucks/dollies, or similar equipment Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, decision-making, communication, escalation management, and time management skills Physical & Work Environment Work takes place in a large-scale pharmacy/warehouse production environment Requires standing and walking for most of the shift Frequent repetitive tasks, reaching, grasping, bending, and use of ladders Ability to occasionally lift and carry 10-20 lbs Exposure to refrigerated/cold areas for a portion of the workday Occasional handling of environmentally hazardous medications Frequent keyboard and computer screen use If you think this Pharmacy Technician position is a good fit for you, please apply to this posting!
