Position Summary The pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient and pharmacy records in a manner consistent with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as pharmacy policies and procedures. This position is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service and patient care to ensure a positive experience and patient healthcare outcomes. Essential Functions 1. Read and interpret physician's medication orders. 2. Accurate and efficient prescription processing, including but not limited to new and refill orders, insurance adjudication, e-Rx, DUR flags and prior authorization. 3. Accurate and efficient prescription dispensing of prescriptions, including but not limited to selection of appropriate drug product, counting, or measuring quantity, and labeling prescription containers and packaging correctly, neatly and in an organized manner compliant with OptioRx policies and applicable laws. 4. Understands and can perform basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct doses of medications. 5. Support training of new technicians, clerks, and related pharmacy team members. Interact with the GM about technician schedules, reviews, performance evaluations. 6. Answer phone cheerfully, professionally, and timely to accurately collect all necessary information from patients, providers, vendors, and if needed triage calls appropriately. 7. Prepare and package medications requiring special handling in accordance with safety measures. 8. Adhere to safety practices to ensure quality care for patients. 9. Help maintain the drug inventory through inventory control practices, organizing and ordering medications based upon OptioRx policy and procedures. 10. Properly package, label, and ship medications via the approved carrier to ensure safely and timely shipping of the medication to the patient. 11. Triage and prioritize requests to drive efficiency. 12. Other tasks assigned by supervisor or other OptioRx management. 13. Hold unquestionable levels of personal and professional integrity, ethics, and interpersonal relationships. 14. Represent the pharmacy professionally and courteously in all interactions with patients, providers, and vendors. Relentless focus on an extraordinary patient experience through all interactions. 15. Assist in resolving patient concerns and complaints. 17. Report product incidents as required by pharmacy policy. 18. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies. Qualifications

• Education and/or

Training:

a. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

Professional Experience:

a. Basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing into all units of measure

Licenses/Certifications:

a. Valid and active tech license in corresponding state(s) b. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by accredited entity preferred c. Immunization certified preferred

Specialized Skills:

a. Proficiency with technology use, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT), Outlook & Internet applications, pharmacy management systems b. Able to operate equipment such as computers, scan guns, tablet counters, and point-of-sale systems c. Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices

Technical Skills:

a. Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal b. Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal skills
