The Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in fulfilling OBMCP's mission: to compassionately advance the health and well-being of the low-income uninsured and underinsured population by operating a clinic and licensed pharmacy that provides free access to life-saving medications. Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist in all technical aspects of dispensing prescription medication and maintaining accurate inventory. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict regulatory standards, and a high degree of empathy when interacting with patients who are often experiencing significant financial and health challenges. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1.

Prescription Processing and Dispensing:

Accurately and efficiently enter prescription data into the pharmacy management system. Prepare and dispense prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. Manage patient profiles, including demographic and eligibility data, ensuring compliance with OBMCP guidelines (e.g., FPL limits, residency requirements). Perform dosage calculations accurately and check for drug-drug interactions, alerting the Pharmacist to any potential issues. 2.

Inventory and Supply Management:

Receive, organize, and store medication inventory, focusing on effective management of donated and patient-assistance stock. Coordinate donated supplies to dispense to other free clinic Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in annual inventory audits. Monitor medication expiration dates and properly remove and document outdated or damaged pharmaceuticals. Manage supply orders for pharmacy consumables (vials, labels, gloves, etc.). 3.

Patient and Volunteer Support:

Provide compassionate and professional customer service to patients, volunteers, and clinic staff. Assist with patient education, ensuring patients understand how to properly take and store their medications, always referring clinical questions to the Pharmacist. Assist in training and mentoring new administrative or technical volunteers. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA requirements. 4.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure the pharmacy workspace and dispensing practices adhere to all state and federal laws, as well as the Colorado Board of Pharmacy regulations for charitable/free clinics. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area and dispensing equipment. 5. Reporting Input data for IPA, PAP, and donating facilities monthly Generate reports for 6. Training Train & onboard volunteer Technicians.

Qualifications and Requirements Education & Certification:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Current, valid Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is highly preferred. Must be registered with the Colorado Board of Pharmacy.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail, hospital, or clinic setting. Experience with patient assistance programs (PAPs) is a significant asset.

Skills & Competencies:

Technical Proficiency:

Demonstrated accuracy in data entry, typing, and arithmetic calculations related to drug dosage.

System Knowledge:

Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., PioneerRx, Computer-Rx, or similar).

Cultural Competence:

A high level of empathy and discretion in working with diverse, low-income, and uninsured patient populations.

Pay:

If yes, please give an example. This position if for 3 days a week. Ever Tuesday from 2:00pm-9:30pm, Thursday's from 9:30am-2:30pm and Saturdays from 8:30am-1:30pm, are you available for all of those days and times?
