Pharmacy Technician Specialist:
- Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician Specialist performs functions related to pharmaceutical preparation and distribution.
- The Pharmacy Technician Specialist primarily works in one or more specialty areas of pharmacy.
Examples:
IV room, controlled substance distribution and monitoring, automation, informatics, medication reconciliation.- Additionally, the Specialist serves as a lead or subject matter expert in their designated specialty area. They may assist with writing policies, leading committees, implementing changes and improvements in their area of specialty, serving as a staff educator or trainer, oversee projects for the department, and other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:

Licensure/Certification:
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or national equivalent) with Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA) issued Pharmacy Technician Certificate, or Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA) issued Provisional Pharmacy Technician Certificate- If initially hired with a Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA) issued Provisional Pharmacy Technician Certificate, must achieve Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or national equivalent) within 12 months of hire.

High school diploma or equivalent- 1.
Experience:
previous pharmacy technician experience preferred- 1.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
As defined in competencies; ability to work accurately with attention to detail. Possesses communication, teamwork, customer service, computer, problem solving and organizational skills.- 1.
Degree of Supervision Required:
Minimal. Individual proceeds on his/her own initiative, in compliance with applicable policies, law, regulations, practices and procedures prescribed by his/her immediate supervisor.- 1.
