Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Saturday, 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM This contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled Pharmacy Technician with retail/outpatient experience, looking to support a Federally Qualified Health Center environment. The role involves directly assisting pharmacists and healthcare providers in delivering high-quality pharmacy services to a diverse and often underserved patient population.
Responsibilities include:
Entering prescription and patient demographic information accurately into the pharmacy system Filling, labeling, packaging, and preparing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision Processing insurance claims, including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and 340B eligible prescriptions Assisting patients with prescription pick-up, refills, transfers, and addressing medication questions while referring clinical inquiries to the pharmacist Managing payment processing and following cash-handling procedures Ordering medications, receiving shipments, rotating stock, and maintaining pharmacy inventory Removing expired medications and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations Assisting with clinic medication and vaccine orders Maintaining accurate documentation and safeguarding patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA Collaborating with providers, nurses, medical assistants, and pharmacists to coordinate patient care Delivering compassionate customer service to uninsured and low-income patients
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
2 to 3 years of pharmacy technician experience highly preferred Active and clear Colorado pharmacy technician license Certification through PTCB or NHA required Experience with EPIC Willow preferred; training available for 1-2 days if needed This contract-to-hire position offers a dynamic environment where patient care and teamwork are central.
