Pay Range :
Certified - $20.97-$26.74 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
Summary:
Certified Pharmacy Technician focus on the needs of our customers with their prescriptions and health needs. They are responsible for inputting and processing prescriptions, supporting patients with product information, and providing customer service to our customers
Essential Job Functions :
In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring patients receive their medications safely and efficiently. Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions with extreme attention to detail. Communicate clearly and effectively with patients and healthcare providers to clarify prescription details or resolve medication-related issues to create a delightful customer experience. Customer Experience Operations Provide excellent customer service by answering patient inquiries related to medications and refills. Assist patients with medication pick-up, ensuring that all questions about proper usage and dosage are answered by licensed pharmacist. Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Develop and foster strong relationships with customers and healthcare professionals. Operations Assist in preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Accurately label medications and package prescriptions for patients. Monitor and maintain medication inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotating drugs. Conduct regular stock audits and report any discrepancies to management. Accurately enter prescription information into pharmacy computer systems. Process insurance claims and verify eligibility for medications. Ensure all activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including pharmacy laws. Follow safety protocols to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Performs duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacists. Assists pharmacists in maintaining efficient workflow. Immediately reports prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adheres to SPRHC policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. Strictly adheres to SPRHC code of conduct and all other policies and procedures. Responsible and accountable for point-of-sale cash register, accurately collects and handles cash as required. Answers telephone calls from patients and providers, providing excellent customer service. Handoff phone calls to pharmacists only when their assistance is needed. Processes claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, triaging any rejections and resubmitting for payment. Completes special projects and other tasks as assigned. Training & Personal Development Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration. Attends training requested by Manager and acquires continuing education credits.
Requirements Basic Qualifications:
Requires willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to react to frequent changes in volume of work.
Minimum Required Education/Experience :
Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment, proficient math skills, proficient computer skills. Ability to problem solve. Prefer fer proficient math skills. Knowledge of store inventory control preferred. PTCB certification referred.
Necessary Special Requirements :
Must obtain annual flu and vaccination and any job-specific immunizations. Required to submit to a tuberculosis screening process.
