Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract Support a busy retail/outpatient pharmacy in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting as a Pharmacy Technician under a contract/contract-to-hire arrangement. This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule, with shifts starting between 7:45 AM and 8:00 AM, ending at 5:30 PM and including a one-hour lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately enter prescription and patient demographic information into the pharmacy system. Fill, label, package, and prepare prescriptions under pharmacist supervision. Process insurance claims, including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and 340B-eligible prescriptions. Assist patients with prescription pick-ups, refills, transfers, and medication inquiries, referring clinical questions to the pharmacist. Handle payments and adhere to cash-handling procedures. Manage medication orders, receive shipments, maintain inventory, and rotate stock. Remove expired medications and support compliance with state and federal regulations. Assist with medication and vaccine orders for clinic use. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines. Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, medical assistants, and pharmacists to coordinate patient care. Deliver compassionate service to a diverse patient population, including uninsured and low-income individuals.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
2-3 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred. Active and clear Colorado pharmacy technician license. Certification through PTCB or NHA required. Familiarity with EPIC Willow system is preferred; training available for qualified candidates (1-2 days).
