Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and labeling medications accurately, including sterile IV infusions and compounded medications. Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment, expiration tracking, and proper storage according to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards. Enter patient data into pharmacy software systems with precision, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Support patient service initiatives by providing clear medication instructions and answering basic pharmacy-related questions. Perform pharmaceutical calculations for dosage accuracy and prepare sterile IV admixtures using aseptic techniques and sterile compounding procedures. Maintain detailed records of medication preparation, dispensing activities, and inventory logs in accordance with state and federal pharmacy laws. Ensure compliance with hospital or community pharmacy protocols, drug regulation policies, and medical terminology standards during daily operations. Skills Proven experience as a pharmacy technician in LTC (Long-Term Care), hospital, or community pharmacy environments. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation, medical terminology, and aseptic technique. Experience with pharmacy software systems for data entry, medication management, and inventory control. Familiarity with hospital or healthcare setting procedures including IV infusion preparation and sterile compounding. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality while adhering to all state healthcare regulations and pharmacy laws.
