Job Description

Position Summary The Registered Pharmacy Technician (Per Diem) assists pharmacists in providing safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services.

In accordance with state and federal regulations, assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assists and supports the Pharmacy Department with inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals. Performs duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in preparing, packaging, labeling, and dispensing medications. Receive and process prescription orders under pharmacist supervision. Enter prescription and patient information accurately into pharmacy computer systems. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies. Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, rotating, and removing expired medications. Prepare medication orders and maintain accurate records as required by law and pharmacy policy.
Skills/Experience Required:
High School Diploma or the equivalent. One year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail setting. Required Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician License Preferred PTCB Certification.
