Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract To Hire This position offers a 13+ week contract-to-hire opportunity supporting sterile compounding operations in a dynamic pharmacy setting. Working Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, the role focuses on preparing sterile compounded medications for infusion and specialty pharmacy patients while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare sterile compounded medications under pharmacist supervision following USP and USP standards. Maintain aseptic technique and cleanroom protocols. Perform accurate pharmacy calculations and prepare compounded products. Assist with labeling, packaging, and shipment of infusion medications. Manage compounding logs, batch records, and quality assurance documentation. Monitor inventory levels and support ordering processes. Maintain cleanroom equipment and conduct environmental monitoring. Support medication order processing and prescription fulfillment. Ensure compliance with State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, OSHA, and company policies. Participate in staff meetings, continuous training, and quality improvement initiatives. Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license required. National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience in sterile compounding, home infusion, hospital, or oncology pharmacy. Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and aseptic technique. Familiarity with USP and USP regulations. Proficient in pharmacy calculations and pharmacy management systems. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with healthcare teams.
