Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract This opportunity offers a 13-week contract position as a Pharmacy Technician in Clearwater, FL, with an immediate start or shortly after clearance (approximately 1.5-2 weeks post-offer). The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
Process prescriptions accurately, including insurance adjudications and resolving claim rejections. Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification. Perform data entry, maintain prescription paperwork, and communicate effectively with patients and prescribers. Manage inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews. Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction protocols. Cross-train in various pharmacy operations to support department needs. Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. PTCB certification and an active Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing. Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience; call center experience is a plus. Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management abilities. Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, providers, and team members.
