Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract A 13-week contract opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician in Clearwater, FL. This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and requires the ability to start ASAP or within 1.5 to 2 weeks after clearance. In this position, you will be responsible for processing and filling prescriptions with accuracy, managing inventory, handling insurance claims, and assisting in packing and shipping medications. Working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, your attention to detail and strong communication skills will be key to success.
Key Responsibilities:
Process prescriptions and handle insurance adjudications, resolving any rejections. Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification. Perform data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and communicate with patients and prescribers. Maintain accurate inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration reviews. Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction procedures. Cross-train in various pharmacy functions and provide support to the department as needed. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. PTCB certification and valid Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing. Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience; some call center experience preferred. Excellent multitasking, organizational, and time management abilities. Strong communication skills for interaction with patients, providers, and internal teams.
