Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract A pharmacy technician position is available on a 13-week contract basis at a healthcare facility located in Clearwater, FL. This role is essential for the efficient operation of the pharmacy, involving prescription processing, inventory management, and collaboration with patients and healthcare providers. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with an immediate start or upon clearance, typically 1.5 to 2 weeks after the offer.
Responsibilities:
Process prescriptions accurately and handle insurance adjudications, resolving any rejections promptly. Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification. Perform detailed data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and maintain clear communication with patients and prescribers. Conduct daily inventory cycle counts, restock supplies, and review medication expiration dates. Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction in compliance with regulations. Cross-train across pharmacy functions and support various department needs as required. Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. PTCB certification and a valid Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing. Minimum of 2 years' pharmacy technician experience, preferably with some call center background. Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills. Effective communication abilities with patients, providers, and internal teams.
