Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician Lead acts as a resource to the Pharmacy Technicians by answering work related questions and directing work flow, and by providing first level leadership, training, and direction for staff technicians.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides customer service by answering the phone
- provides correct pharmacy information to customers, or refers call to a pharmacist or management if unable to do so
- answers non-clinical questions (when will shipment arrive, etc.)
enters patient demographics into patient profile with special emphasis on the correct spelling of name and DOB enters all other information as required by company Enters prescription information accurately into computer system correct drug, correct strength, correct frequency, correct quantity, correct doctor, correct refills, and any other pertinent information Provides initial and ongoing training to Pharmacy Technician staff
Responds to employee work process questions, ensuring that technicians are following company policies and procedures
Assists Supervisor in assignment of workload and monitoring of efficiency and productivity of technicians
Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns, escalating issues to supervisor and/or manager as appropriate Judgment Makes effective choices
Uses policies, procedures, and/or guides to make good choices
Uses data and facts in order to make day-to-day decisions and involves others as needed
Recognizes what might be a problem and informs those who can correct it Customer Centered Serves the Customer
Shows care and concern when speaking with customers

Education and Experience:
A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the State Board of Pharmacy Prior Pharmacy and/or Supervisor experience helpful
