Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join a specialty pharmacy distribution team. This is a dual-purpose role , with time divided between medication filling and packing/shipping orders. The ideal candidate will have an active and unencumbered Florida Pharmacy Technician license/registration , strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a production-oriented pharmacy environment. Responsibilities Select, pick, count, package, and label medications and ancillary supplies according to prescriptions and pharmacy procedures. Accurately count medications using manual processes and automated counting equipment. Prepare and restock filling stations with medications and supplies. Package and prepare completed orders for shipment. Follow proper hand sanitization and hazardous medication handling procedures. Clean pill-counting devices, equipment, and general work areas. Perform Operations Assistant duties as needed. Enter pharmacy and order information accurately into computer systems. Follow pharmacy laws, procedures, and established safety guidelines. Recognize issues outside the scope of responsibility and escalate them appropriately. Work collaboratively with pharmacists and other pharmacy team members to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. Required Qualifications Active and unencumbered Pharmacy Technician license/registration in Florida. Minimum 6 months of pharmacy technician experience . Verifiable High School Diploma or GED . Knowledge of medication names, basic pharmacology, and pharmacy terminology. Basic understanding of pharmacy laws and regulations. Ability to accurately use computer applications for data entry. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT). 3+ months of pick/pack/ship or distribution center experience . 3+ months of professional computer experience. Previous specialty pharmacy or fulfillment experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for the duration of an 8-10 hour shift . Ability to repeatedly lift 5-10 lbs. Ability to occasionally lift up to 30-50 lbs. Ability to reach and grasp items at various levels. Ability to operate keyboards, pharmacy equipment, and departmental machinery. Comfortable working around moving machinery, including conveyor belts. May be required to wear protective clothing or equipment. #
