Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Assist the Pharmacist(s) in processing and filling of prescriptions and medication/medical supply orders. Review and enter orders and patient information into the pharmacy computer system. Process and assist in the maintenance of pharmacy inventory. Perform sales transactions and provide customer/patient/medical staff with appropriate information about medications, health insurance, and other health care related services. File third-party insurance claims on paper and electronically.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1. High school diploma or equivalent education required2. Completion of pharmacy technical program or on-the-job education/pharmacy work experience preferred3. A minimum of one (1) year work experience, preferably as pharmacy technician/clerk preferred4. Registration with HI State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician required; if not had at time of hire will be required to obtain within 90 days of hire.5. Completion of Medical terminology course preferred6. Billing experience medical billing and pharmacy prescription processing preferred7.
