POSITION SUMMARY
Assist the Pharmacist(s) in processing and filling of prescriptions and medication/medical supply orders. Review and enter orders and patient information into the pharmacy computer system. Process and assist in the maintenance of pharmacy inventory. Perform sales transactions and provide customer/patient/medical staff with appropriate information about medications, health insurance, and other health care related services. File third-party insurance claims on paper and electronically.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1. High school diploma or equivalent education required 2. Completion of pharmacy technical program or on-the-job education/pharmacy work experience preferred 3. A minimum of one (1) year work experience, preferably as pharmacy technician/clerk preferred 4. Registration with HI State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician required; if not had at time of hire will be required to obtain within 90 days of hire. 5. Completion of Medical terminology course preferred 6. Billing experience - medical billing and pharmacy prescription processing preferred 7.
