Job Description

Schedule:
0730-1700 M-F, 34 hours/week (4 days @ 8.5 hours)
Weekend Rotation:
Every 4th weekend, Hours 0800-1200 Saturday and Sunday
JOB SUMMARY
The Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is responsible for providing pharmacy services including, but not limited to, distributing pharmaceuticals, performing inventory control, completing compliance audits and financial transactions, providing customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records. The CPhT works as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team under the direction of licensed Pharmacists. The CPhT is required to utilize and enhance their knowledge and competency while performing technical functions within the pharmacy. Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities: High school graduate National Certification through PCTB or NHA Licensed with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician within one year of employment. At least two years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred Ability to read and communicate effectively in English High degree of empathetic listening, tact and kindness toward others. Ability to communicate well verbally. Must work effectively as a member of a team. Computer literacy and functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel is required. Must possess a valid Iowa driver's license and meet satisfactory motor vehicle record requirements. Must maintain and provide proof of his/her own auto insurance policy Technical skills associated with duties listed within this job description. Must be competent in all assigned areas.
