Description Two Rivers Cooperation is currently seeking a Sales Agronomist to serve as a trusted advisor to farmers, combining agricultural knowledge with a passion for helping growers succeed. This position is responsible for building meaningful relationships with customers, understanding the unique challenges of each operation, delivering customized recommendations that drive yield and profitability, and identifying new business opportunities to expand Two Rivers Cooperative's presence in the market. This position reports to the Agronomy Department Manager. Two Rivers Cooperative focuses on its Community and serving our customers as one team working together; we value what's best for Two Rivers.
Hours:
Monday - Friday 7:30am-5pm; occasional Saturday's during anhydrous seasonLocation:
109 South Street, Pella, IA 50219 - Frequent travel expected to meet customers needs.Primary & Essential Responsibilities:
Assess customer operations to identify gaps in their current product mix and uncover opportunities that maximize their success. Build lasting relationships through consistent, year-round engagement with growers. Prospect and develop new business in your territory, converting leads to long-term partnerships. Share technical expertise, best practices, and agronomy tools that help farmers make informed decisions. Recommend tailored solutions that optimize yields, improve return on investment, and address complex challenges. Stay current on emerging technologies, market trends, and product developments to bring valuable insights to customers. Anticipate future customer needs and identify ways to deepen service within your territory. Partner with location leadership to develop strategies focused on the right product mix, strong margins, and high-value solutions.Knowledge & Expectations:
Meet or exceed annual sales targets Grow market share in assigned territory Increase revenue from existing accounts Improve farmers' yields and profitability Expand product adoption at existing accounts Be educated on the latest agronomic practices and technologies Act by Two Rivers Cooperative Values Take ownership of issues, projects, and proactive communication with the Feed Manager Lead by example by making good decisions, having a positive attitude, and taking initiative Anticipate and identify opportunities to changeEducation:
Preferred Associate's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Ag Business, or related field.Experience:
Strong understanding of sales strategies and agronomy or crop consulting.Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk and visit fields, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, standing for extended periods of time, and work extended hours during peak seasons. Good computer skills for running feed mill machinery. Must have a valid drivers licenses and the ability to obtain Class A CDL and Hazmat.
