Manages implementation, upgrade and all maintenance of operational and hardware support of the Pyxis automated medication dispensing cabinets, Pyxis CII Safe cabinets, automated medication devices and Knowledge Portal program. Supports regional Pyxis operations for Critical Access Hospitals as server administrator.Responsibilities:
Reviews and modifies daily routines and reports as needed to ensure support of system, workflow and project tasks including formulary and user management in Server, drawer failure resolution, temperature resolutions and routine maintenance of dispensing machines Provides operational and hardware support for projects, system updates and upgrades Works with Medication Safety Committee as needed to promote safe medication practices with regards to override medications Works with Epic Analysts to assure interface is properly communicating and dispensing medications as appropriate Works with Drug Shortage team to prioritize inventory locations Monitors medication outdates regularly; working with pharmacy technician staff to ensure stock is removed and rotated as appropriate Serves as Administrator to CII safe for Users, Formulary, inventory optimization Reviews controlled substance discrepancy reports and initiates investigation of discrepancy events and resolution Participates with monthly controlled substance inventory optimization Ensures appropriate placement of medications in CII safe Exhibits a broad degree of latitude and decision making May need to be on-call as department needs require Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assignedRequirements and Minimum Qualifications :
Successful completion of a licensed Pharmacy Technician Program OR 2 to 3 years' experience in a retail pharmacy, pharmaceutical company or equivalent work setting Idaho State Board Pharmacy Technician registration required Hired as of 6/1/2009, national certification through PTCB or ICPT required Minimum 3 years' experience as a Hospital Pharmacy Tech at Kootenai Health or 5 years of equivalent pharmacy experience required Demonstrated ability to use computer skills including Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook. Demonstrated expertise in Pharmacy systems Demonstrated ability to lead meetingsWorking Conditions:
