Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract To Hire A role is available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician in an outpatient pharmacy setting, working Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This contract-to-hire position offers the opportunity to apply your pharmacy technician skills using the Pioneer RX computer system in a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities include processing medication orders and prescriptions with precision and care, packaging and dispensing pre-manufactured dosage forms according to established protocols. You will operate within established systems for storage, preparation, and dispensing of medicinal agents, adhering to health system policies related to cart fill, unit dose distribution, medication preparation and labeling, controlled substance reconciliation, and purchasing pharmaceuticals and supplies. Collaboration with pharmacists is a key aspect of this role, assisting in patient, physician, and nursing education, as well as in retrieving accurate and relevant drug information. You will collect patient-specific data to support pharmacists in optimizing pharmacotherapy, including screenings for IV to oral conversions, renal dosing adjustments, allergies, and non-formulary prescribing. Additionally, obtaining clinical pharmacokinetic data such as creatinine clearance calculations will help design safe and cost-effective therapeutic regimens.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician Previous experience within a hospital outpatient pharmacy environment Familiarity with pharmacy insurance claims processing Illinois pharmacy technician license Proficiency with Pioneer RX is preferred

Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm This position offers a rewarding pathway with the potential for direct hire following the contract period.
