A Pharmacy Technician works under the direction of a pharmacist to dispense prescription medications. Serves customers and helps to fill prescriptions. Works in a retail pharmacy or healthcare facility.
The Pharmacy Intake Specialist supports a patient assistance program by reviewing, processing, and triaging patient applications. This role is responsible for accurate data entry, documentation management, patient outreach, and coordination of workflows in accordance with established business rules and policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete intake and processing of patient applications within the customer relationship management system Enter and maintain accurate patient demographic, physician, medication, insurance, income, and household information Review applications for completeness and identify missing information Contact patients to obtain required documentation and additional information Associate, organize, and maintain application-related records and documentation Follow established business rules to determine appropriate workflow routing Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with operational procedures and policies Maintain accurate case documentation within the system Support renewal and recertification activities for patient assistance program participants Assist with process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned Manage incoming and outgoing mail and related administrative tasks
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in an office, administrative, customer service, or healthcare support environment Strong computer proficiency and data entry skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Ability to work independently with minimal supervision High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to adapt quickly and learn new processes efficiently Ability to sit, stand, and occasionally lift or carry materials as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or college coursework preferred Experience working with healthcare, pharmacy, insurance, or patient assistance programs Knowledge of medical and pharmacy insurance benefits Experience using customer relationship management systems
