Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Per Diem A Per Diem Pharmacy Technician position is available to support a behavioral hospital in a nearby city. This role requires dedication to accuracy and efficiency in medication handling within a busy inpatient setting averaging 145 patients and dispensing 300-400 prescriptions daily.
Location:
Near Palatine, IL (Facility located in Waukegan, IL)
Schedule:
Approximately 2-3 shifts per week, starting ASAP through July Coverage hours: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with potential for later stays Weekend availability may be required
Key Responsibilities:
Fill and deliver medications to patient care units promptly and accurately Utilize the HCS Order Entry System and Omnicell automation (training provided) Complete 2-3 days of orientation and training before starting
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician license Ability to walk up to 10,000 steps daily Comfortable working within dress code guidelines, including scrubs or business casual attire, closed-toed shoes, natural hair color, and no jeans or inappropriate accessories Local candidates preferred due to proximity for shift coverage
Dress Code Guidelines:
Scrubs in black or gray, or business casual attire Closed-toed shoes essential Professional grooming including natural hair colors, short fingernails, and acceptance of face piercings No hats unless for religious or medical reasons Clothing free from rips, stains, or tears; no jeans, spaghetti straps, or hoop earrings This Per Diem assignment offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic behavioral healthcare environment with the support of comprehensive training on specialized systems. If you hold an Illinois Pharmacy Technician license and meet the physical and professional requirements, apply now to contribute to patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.
