We are a progressive organization, dedicated to helping people - including our staff - be successful! LifeSpring Health Systems is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician. The Pharmacy Technician at LifeSpring Pharmacy plays a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate prescription processing, and providing exceptional service to patients from diverse backgrounds. The technician works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and adheres to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as FQHC-specific policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in filling, labeling, and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Receive and process prescription orders, verify patient information, and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. Prepare medications for distribution, including counting, measuring, and packaging drugs. Maintain accurate patient records and update pharmacy databases as needed. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and educating patients on medication usage and side effects (within scope of practice). Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team and other FQHC staff to support patient care initiatives, including medication adherence programs. Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and assist with stock management to minimize waste and ensure availability. Ensure proper storage of medications, including controlled substances, and follow all safety protocols. Process insurance claims and assist patients with understanding coverage and copayments. Support quality improvement and compliance efforts, including participation in audits and training. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program preferred. Active pharmacy technician certification (e.g., PTCB or NHA) and state licensure, if applicable. Previous experience in a retail pharmacy or healthcare setting is desirable, especially within an FQHC or community health environment. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency with pharmacy management software and basic computer skills. Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality regulations. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
